Malaysia – 12 July 2023
Early Bird Registration is now open for the Malaysia Meet Up. Click on the link above to secure your seat at the table.
A new Obris member recently asked me why do Marvin and I host Obris events. My answer came quickly, as events are always fresh on my mind.
We cultivate a remarkable community of investors who love to experience the world and expand their investment horizons by exploring new countries, markets and industries.
We thoroughly enjoy this community. Our events provide a venue to create and deepen relationships with fascinating people with whom we have much in common – often more so than most of local friends and neighbors.
If you have not attended an Obris event, please consider joining us in Malaysia. I am certain that you will have a blast. And, you will learn a great deal along the way.
Kuala Lumpur – 10-11 September
Plan to arrive by the evening of 9 September, as we will start after breakfast on the 10th.
Mornings will be spent around a large conference table as we engage with industry and government experts who will walk us through the Malaysian investment canvas, the start-up ecosphere, real estate, commodities, banking and much more.
Afternoons will include site seeing in Putrajaya, CyberJaya and China town, as well as a real estate property tour.
Evenings will begin with drinks and presentations from Baker Tilly Malaysia and Annica Holdings before we are unleashed to explore KL’s thriving night life.
Home will be at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur in the Bukit Bintang District – known for its’ thriving atmosphere including sidewalk cafes, al fresco bars and live music clubs.
From Kuala Lumpur to Georgetown – 12 September
Expect to be woo’d by Malaysia’s tropical beauty as we travel by luxury motor coach north along the west coast of the peninsula to Georgetown.
Home will be the historic Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Georgetown.
You will have the afternoon to refresh and gaze at the Malacca Straight before we embark upon drinks at the home of one of our Obris members followed by dinner at the Georgetown Marina.
Georgetown – 13-14 September
Back to the conference room in the mornings, we will explore the rich history of Penang, the MM2H expat visa (Malaysia My Second Home) and investment opportunities in Penang. We will also review the Obris portfolio.
Afternoons will be devoted to exploring Penang and visits to prospective investment companies on the island.
Our evenings will include dinner at one of Penang’s floating seafood restaurants and drinks at the top of Georgetown’s tallest building. We will wrap-up the evening of the 14th. Please plan to stay at least until the morning of the 15th.
