The “West’s most western town” is known for a blend of Old West heritage, desert beauty, upscale resorts, art galleries, golf, luxury shopping, dining and outdoor lifestyle.
Speaking of beauty, Scottsdale sits in the Sonoran Desert at the foot of the McDowell Mountains immediately east of Phoenix. From our hotel – look to the west and you will see Phoenix, a large urban center of 5.4M people. To the North is the Tonto National Forest. The McDowell Mountains to the east, and the Salt River to the south.
This town of 250,000 people is home to nearly 60 golf courses and an equal number of art galleries.
Why Scottsdale
Scottsdale has one of the highest concentration of entrepreneurs, investors, retirees, golfers and high-net-worth residents in North America. Think of Miami, West Palm Beach, Singapore and Dubai.
That is why Scottsdale feels like the right place for this conversation. It is beautiful and comfortable, but it is also a city built around mobility, reinvention, lifestyle design, and long-term planning—the same themes that sit at the center of Obris.
We are intentional in choosing this locale to host the November Meet Up. We have a lot to discuss – Scottsdale offers us a place to gather to rethink how we want to live, invest, protect and connect.
I (James) am in Scottsdale this week where the temperature is a blazing 109F (42C). Remember, it will be much cooler mid-November.
We put considerable effort into selecting Meet Up locations around the world – the venues where we gather are equally important as we endeavor to provide an atmosphere where participants can relax, connect and learn.
We have narrowed our hotel choices to four spectacular properties. We also have a hot list of venues for alfresco dining, meals and adventure.
Someone must test the food and ambiance, right? I prefer to experience these resorts and restaurants before we invite you to join us.
Why Now
Asset protection and growth have always been pillars of Obris’ mandate, a focus of our events and the topic of frequent conversations among members.
I cringe at making cliché statements, but we are living through a period of unusual uncertainty. Markets, politics, banking, tax policy, litigation risk, and geopolitical tension are all moving at once. You do not need me to overstate it; most of us feel it already.
Each of us need the tools to respond – to weather such storms and secure our hard-earned wealth. And, to take advantage of equally unprecedented opportunities to grow our wealth.
We invite you to set aside a few days in November – 18-21 – to join us, our hand-crafted panel of protection and growth experts, and our phenomenal group of Obris members.
Why Attend
While I could offer countless reasons, here are key benefits of attending:
- Learn what you need to know before you need it— – because the best asset protection, jurisdictional planning, and wealth structuring is done before pressure arrives.
- Understand how to protect your wealth in an uncertain world – across legal, tax, banking, jurisdictional, family, business, and counterparty risks.
- Learn strategies for both defense and growth – how to protect what you have built while still positioning capital, relationships, and optionality for the next cycle of opportunity.
- Access a curated community of globally minded investors – —people who are thinking seriously about where to live, bank, invest, protect assets, raise families, build businesses, and create long-term optionality.
- Gain perspective from accomplished peers, not just experts – —many of us have been preparing for a long time, and the informal conversations may be as valuable as the formal sessions.
- Prepare for 2027 and beyond— – utilize the November gathering as a year-end reset to review structures, exposures, opportunities, and decisions before the next planning cycle begins.
- Experience Obris in person – —because trust, referrals, ideas, and friendship develop differently when members gather face-to-face.
- Enjoy Scottsdale— – warm November weather, desert beauty, Old Town energy, alfresco dining, golf, art, resorts, and the chance to combine serious conversations with a memorable destination experience.
